Alternative and Complementary Therapies Available at Southfork Animal Hospital
The following services are provided by our own Dr. Katherine Belisle:
Energy Healing -- This involves opening the body's natural energy channels or meridians. It is useful for generalized well being or to target specific problem organs.
Reiki -- Tibetan Reiki ("Ray Key") healing involves the channeling of universal life force energy into a body in order to release energy blockages and restore balance.
Qigong -- Qigong ("Chee Kong") is an ancient Chinese method of using energy to create a healthy mind and body. Energy blockages are transformed or removed so the body can function normally
Bach Flower Essences -- Flower essences are used for pet's emotional problems including fear and anxiety, grief, or territorial issues.
Touch Balancing Animal Bowen -- Bowen is a non-traumatic muscle manipulation technique used to release abnormal muscle tension. It is useful in cases of muscle or joint injury or chronic conditions such as hip dysplasia.
Animal Communication -- This involves communicating with your pet on a spiritual level. Communication can assist with understanding behavioral issues or identifying the root cause of a problem.

Homotoxicology -- This medicine uses homeopathic remedies to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal. A wide variety of illnesses can be addressed.

Nutrition -- The quality and type of food given to our pets plays a big role in health and disease. Health benefits are usually seen by feeding a diet that agrees with the individual dog or cat.
Glandulars, Other Supplements -- Glandulars are food supplements that contain small amounts of the organ that needs support, such as pancreas for diabetes, kidney for kidney disease, etc. These and other supplements can provide additional support for healing.
Chinese Herbs -- Herbal medicine has been used in China for over 5,000 years. Herbs can be very helpful to treat, and sometimes reverse, disease.
